Overview
eBay's Out of Stock feature allows you to keep your listings active even when inventory reaches zero. This helps maintain your listing's search ranking and buyer interest.
To utilise this feature with Omnivore / eBayLink, ensure your eBay settings are configured correctly.
How a Product Quantity of Zero Affects Your eBay Listings
When the quantity of the listing reaches zero (either because all the items were sold, or you adjusted the quantity), your listing stays active but hidden from eBay search results.
The eBay listing will reappear in search results when you increase the quantity of items available.
If your listing has a quantity of zero for 180 consecutive days, it will be ended.
Your Out Of Stock / Multi-Quantity Listing preference must be set to 'Yes' in eBay so that when products go out of stock in Omnivore/eBay Link or you have a connection issue, the listing does NOT end. Omnivore/eBayLink relies on this setting to revise listings so if you want listings to end when they hit 0 stock you will need to manually end them in eBay.
Setting Up the Out of Stock Preference
Log in to your eBay Seller Account
Navigate to eBay Selling Preferences.Activate Multi-Quantity Listings
Locate the "Multi-quantity listings" section and toggle it to "Yes." This enables the Out of Stock feature for your listings.
Revising Out of Stock Listings via Omnivore / eBay Link
Any eBay listing with zero inventory will be inactive on eBay. That means it cannot be added to a buyer's cart and will not appear in the search results.
Whilst it is out of stock, any updates you make in Omnivore—such as changes to images, shipping, descriptions, titles, prices, or item specifics—will not be applied on eBay until inventory is added and the listing becomes active and visible to buyers again.
