eBay Plus Criteria and Setup for Sellers in Australia

Check eBay Plus eligibility requirements and configure the relevant settings in eBay LINK.

An eBay Plus badge can help eligible listings stand out by showing buyers that the listing meets eBay's delivery, returns and seller performance requirements.

eBay Plus eligibility is assessed at the individual listing level. This means some of your listings may qualify for eBay Plus while others may not.

Both the seller and the individual listing must meet eBay's requirements.

eBay Plus Seller Requirements

To be eligible for eBay Plus, you must:

  • Subscribe to an eligible eBay Pro plan
  • Have an eBay seller level of Above Standard or Top Rated
  • Not have a Very High rating in any service metrics category
  • Comply with eBay's selling policies

You can review how eBay assesses seller levels and service metrics in its Seller performance overview

These requirements are managed by eBay and are not controlled by eBay LINK.

eBay Plus Listing Requirements

For a listing to qualify for the eBay Plus badge, it must:

  • Be listed in fixed-price format
  • Be priced at $9.90 or more
  • Have an item location in Australia
  • Have a return address in Australia
  • Meet the applicable eBay Plus postage requirements
  • Meet the applicable eBay Plus returns requirements

eBay LINK creates eBay listings in fixed-price format, so no separate eBay LINK setting is required for this criterion.

Postage Requirements

Eligible listings generally need to provide:

  • Free standard domestic postage
  • No additional postage charge when multiple items are purchased
  • A reasonably priced express postage option for metro buyers where required
  • A handling time of 0–1 business day

For eBay Plus eligibility, the amount charged for express postage should only cover the difference between the standard and express service. eBay currently applies a maximum express postage charge of $20 for badge eligibility.

Free domestic postage is generally required throughout Australia. eBay allows some exceptions, including charges to specified external Australian territories. PO Boxes may also be excluded where the selected carrier does not deliver to them.

An Untracked Letter service cannot be the only free postage option on an eBay Plus listing.

Bulky or special-handling products

Bulky products and products requiring special handling are not automatically excluded from eBay Plus.

Some categories do not need to offer an express postage option. This can include categories containing products such as:

  • Furniture
  • Whitegoods
  • Batteries
  • Power tools
  • Landscaping supplies
  • Musical instruments
  • Sporting equipment
  • Vehicles

These listings must still meet the other applicable eBay Plus requirements.

See Selling with eBay Plus for the current postage requirements and category exemptions.

Returns Requirements

Eligible listings generally need a returns policy that accepts returns within:

  • 30 days, or
  • 60 days

Free returns are not required for eBay Plus eligibility.

Some products that cannot normally be returned for hygiene or safety reasons may be exempt from the returns requirement. Check eBay's current list of non-returnable categories where applicable.

Maintaining the eBay Plus badge

Receiving the eBay Plus badge is not the end of the eligibility requirements.

To maintain eBay Plus eligibility, you must:

  • Upload valid tracking for at least 95% of your eBay Plus orders
  • Meet the handling time shown on your listing
  • Send eligible eBay Plus orders to metro buyers using the required express delivery service

eBay monitors seller and listing performance and may remove the eBay Plus badge where the requirements are no longer met.

What eBay considers valid tracking

Tracking is considered valid when:

  • The tracking number is uploaded to the eBay order
  • The carrier is integrated with eBay
  • At least one tracking event or scan is recorded

Some eBay Plus requirements are controlled by your eBay account, while others depend on the settings and information sent to eBay through eBay LINK.

Your eBay Pro subscription, seller level, service metrics, and compliance with eBay policies are managed directly by eBay.
